Rev 3:7-13 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; (8) I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. (9) Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. (10) Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. (11) Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. (12) Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. (13) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The church in Philadelphia is the most significant church of the seven churches to Christians as the age draws to a close. The reason being is Jesus’ promise to keep them from the time of testing that will come up all the earth. The only time that such testing is sent upon all the earth is when the seventh trumpet begins to sound at the close of the age. All of the bowls of wrath are poured out upon the earth while the seventh trumpet sounds. In Exodus 19:13, The Lord told Mose that when the trumpet sounds long, the people “shall come up to the mount.” The New Testament also tells us that it will be at the last trumpet sound that the church will be raptured.
1 Cor. 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Thes. 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Cor. 15 52 says that it will be at the last trumpet sound that the dead shall be raised incorruptible. 1 Thess. 15:52 says that the dead in Christ will be raised FIRST and then those who are alive will caught up together with them to meet Jesus in the air. There is no such thing as a “secret rapture” because there is only one resurrection of the dead before the Millennium. The next resurrection will not occur until the end of the millennium, and it is called the SECOND DEATH.
Since the church is not appointed to wrath, we will be raptured before the bowls of wrath are poured out at the beginning of the sound of the seventh trumpet.
Jesus told the Philadelphians that they only had a little strength. Even Matthew Henry believed this to be mild rebuke to mean that they had only a small amount of grace. It is not even possible for anyone to have only a small amount of grace since Grace is given, not merited or picked up off the ground. Neither is Grace poured out in measure to be gathered up by faith. Grace is abundant. (2 Cor. 4:15) We are saved by Grace through Faith, and even the Faith is not our faith, it is the gift of God. (Eph. 2:8)
The statement that the Philadelphians “hast a little strength” is not a rebuke of any kind. It is a statement of fact, and it does not mean that they are not strong in the faith, to the contrary, it means they are very strong in the faith despite the fact that there is so little evidence of supernatural power exhibited among them. The word translated as “strength,” is “dunamis.” Dunamis is defined as “power,” but is almost exclusively used to mean supernatural power in the New Testament.
Philadelphians are those Christians who have struggled for the last one hundred years against the forces of Satan within the culture as The power and influence of Material Humanism gained ever greater advantages in the Law, Education, Science, and Populism. Armed only with their swords, shields, and helmets, they have been struggling against an army seemingly armed with hydrogen bombs trying to break through doors that have been closed to them by the LAW of Man.
There is little evidence among the Philadelphians of any Supernatural Gift. They only miracles they experience are in answered prayer. Yet, Jesus tells of how strong they have been in Faith by keeping His Word and not denying His Name. The Apostle Paul wrote the most Spiritually Gifted Church in the New Testament that there was a better way to witness than the Gifts they had been exercising: 1Co 13:8-13 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. (9) For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. (10) But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. (11) When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (12) For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. (13) And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
The Philadelphians have become full grown, leaving behind childish things they exercise the greatest of the Spiritual Gifts. They LOVE! Philadelphians are the church of “the more excellent way” the Apostle Paul spoke of in 1 Cor. 12:31. Agape, Love the way that The Godhead Loves. Agape has nothing to do with the emotional, romantic Lust known as Love in the flesh. Agape is a rational, determination of the Will to do good to others whether they deserve it or not. In that it is rational, it is reasoned state of the mind. In that it is determined, it is a constant, conscientious, and deliberate response to all human interactions. The will to Love is the greatest power a human can possess, to become possessed by it is to be Christlike. It is the sublimest state of human existence, and because it is not completely attainable while in the flesh is no reason not to strive for it.
We have been given the power and the task to transform our world on soul at a time. Each of bearing fruit in many clusters to regain in America what is being destroyed by the demonic forces of Satan and Democracy. The sooner we start, the sooner we will see our task bearing fruit. It is really not all that hard, do good to others and as you are doing it, remind them that Jesus has promised that if we look unto him we will be saved from all of the Satanic degradations that are now trying to overwhelm us.
We do not worry ourselves with where they should go to church. We are anonymously denominational. We are the Bride of Jesus Christ inviting others the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. All that is necessary for men to do is “Look Unto Him.” The slightest acknowledgment that we are lost is all sufficient. He will pout out the Spirit of Grace upon us and we will hear His words unto us.
The condition of the Lost is common to all mankind. Born in bodies that we have inherited from ADAM and EVE, we live in flesh that is dead to God because of SIN. Everything in the material realm that is not of FAITH is sin. Just the weakest call upon the Lord for help from all of this is enough to be released from it instantaneously and the Journey begins. Do not expect that Satan will give up working against the Spirit by inciting the Flesh. He has wiles that can influence almost imperceptibly. Our only defense is constant and continuous FAITH.
Rom. 7:20-25 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. (21) I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. (22) For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: (23) But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (24) O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? (25) I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
The entire creation, every star, every planet, every moon, every animal, every human has been lost to God because of the sin of Adam and Eve. (SEE THE PAGE ON LIFE FOR MORE INFORMATION)
Rom. 8:19-23 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (20) For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, (21) Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. (22) For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. (23) And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
The seriousness and truth of the doctrine of ORIGINAL SIN should never be understated. We are conceived and born in bodies that are dead to God because we have inherited Spiritually dead bodies from our original progenitors, Adam and Eve. Even after being saved, we still move around in bodies of sin.
Rom 7:18-24 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. (19) For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. (20) Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
It is a lot easier to become a member of the Church that Loves in Philadelphia by keeping such things in mind. When in contact with that which is worldly, we must remember, “There but for the Grace of God, go I.” Be gentile, loving, and forthright in the faith, knowing that the person to which you are witnessing is lost and undone, not knowing their left from their right.
The Power to Love
1 Pet. 4:8-9 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall
cover the multitude of sins. (9) Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
Rom. 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath
fulfilled the law.
John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. (23) I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Isa. 45:22-23
1 Cor. 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
1 Cor. 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
